FBI’s Clinton Probes: Alarming New Insights Emerge

A recently released report by Special Counsel John Durham has uncovered startling information about the FBI’s handling of criminal investigations involving Hillary and Bill Clinton.

The eagerly anticipated report sheds light on several probes that were abruptly closed just months before the 2016 presidential election. Now, Republicans are demanding that these investigations be reopened.

According to the report, the FBI initiated an investigation in late 2014 after a confidential source alleged illegal donations from two foreign governments to Hillary Clinton’s campaign in exchange for influence.

The source provided supporting documents for a $2,700 illegal contribution, which then led to a significant additional donation. Shockingly, the report reveals that three FBI field offices – in Washington, DC, Little Rock, Arkansas, and New York – initiated investigations into potential criminal activities by the Clinton Foundation in early 2016.

Journalist Peter Schweizer’s 2015 book, “Clinton Cash,” triggered one of these investigations. The book suggested that foreign governments had made substantial donations to the Clinton Foundation in an attempt to influence US foreign policy while Hillary was Secretary of State.

Despite considerable progress, these investigations were terminated by senior officials, as disclosed in Durham’s report. These revelations have prompted renewed demands from current and former Republicans for a reevaluation of the alleged criminal actions connected to the Clintons.

Florida Representative Matt Gaetz, a Republican and a member of the House Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee investigating political bias in the FBI, expressed his concerns about the Clintons.

Gaetz emphasized that individuals within the FBI had been working to protect the Clintons from facing criminal consequences. Similarly, former Republican congressman Jason Chaffetz, who previously chaired the House Oversight Committee, criticized the FBI for not fulfilling its duties and called for the Clinton investigations to be reopened.

The comprehensive 316-page report, submitted to Attorney General Merrick Garland on May 12, revealed explosive information about the FBI’s investigations into the Clintons. The report underscored the stark contrast between the FBI and Justice Department’s extensive probe into Trump’s alleged ties with Russia, and their seemingly timid approach to the Clinton investigations.

Durham’s report examined a January 2016 finding by the Little Rock Field Office, which unearthed potential evidence of a federal public official receiving large monetary contributions in exchange for favorable government action through a nonprofit they controlled. Furthermore, the report cited sources identifying foreign governments seeking preferential treatment from Clinton in return for donations to the Clinton Foundation.

Schweizer’s book scrutinized a 2010 agreement that granted the Russian government control over a significant portion of US uranium production. Notably, the agreement coincided with the company chairman’s substantial donations to the Clinton Foundation. While the Clinton Foundation denied any wrongdoing, the book highlighted several similar instances involving major donors and foreign governments with vested interests in Hillary’s decisions as Secretary of State.

A spokesperson for the Clinton Foundation denied the claims of alleged wrongdoing, pointing out that the Durham report emphasized the lack of supporting evidence for these allegations. They cited previous investigations conducted by the Justice Department during the Trump administration and House Republicans in 2018, which concluded without finding any evidence of wrongdoing.
