An eight-year-old boy was transported to the hospital after hanging by his neck from a rope ladder during a bizarre accident at a Pennsylvania indoor amusement park.

The terrifying incident occurred inside the Thrillz Flying Adventure Park in King of Prussia.

According to Upper Merion Police, the child was climbing a rope ladder when he became entangled and began to hang by his neck. According to Lisa Cannon, the amusement park’s owner, the youngster was seen in surveillance footage climbing down the rope ladder head first.

Two off-duty police officers freed the youngster, who was unconscious when he was lowered from the ladder. The park personnel quickly cut the rope and lowered the boy.

According to Cannon, the park’s safety monitors organized a response team comprised of employees, two off-duty cops, and a nurse. In less than a minute, her employees had pulled the youngster down and spoken with the park’s CPR and first aid team.

Police claimed the child regained consciousness shortly after and spoke to first responders before being brought to Paoli Hospital, where he was reportedly in stable condition.

The child was at the park with his family, according to police, and the occurrence was considered an accident.

Although the park remained open for the rest of the day, the rope ladder will remain closed until the park adds extra safety measures.

Cannon said in her statement that the rope ladder conformed with the regulations of the American Society for Testing and Materials, but out of caution, they will further increase the safety of the rope by replacing it with one more secure.

One of the parents, who was there with her son and nephew at the time of the incident, said it was a terrifying ordeal for the kids, with many youngsters and adults crying in fear.
